1. Who is responsible

Fileupgo team is an independent software developer based in Hong Kong and operates FileUpGo Data Recovery. Where applicable data-protection law uses terms such as “data user” or “controller,” Fileupgo team acts in that capacity for the processing described here. Contact: support@fileupgo.com.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to the FileUpGo Data Recovery public website, Windows application, licensing and policy services, purchases, and feedback functions. A payment provider or merchant of record may process payment information under its own privacy notice, which is displayed or linked at checkout.

3. Files processed locally

Disk scanning, folder browsing, previews, and file recovery are performed on your computer. FileUpGo Data Recovery does not upload the contents of scanned or recovered files during ordinary operation. Fileupgo team can receive file-related content only if you deliberately include it in feedback or another support communication. Do not submit confidential file contents unless they are necessary for support.

4. Information we may process

Depending on the feature used, Fileupgo team may process: your purchase or feedback email address; order, product, price, currency, payment-status, refund, and transaction references; license key, plan, activation, expiry, revocation, and device-allocation information; machine code or device identifier, device name or token, Windows and application version, platform, and language; feedback text and submission language; and technical records such as IP address, request time, endpoint, response status, security events, and error information. Fileupgo team does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.

5. Why we use information

We use this information to provide purchases and licenses; activate, validate, bind, revoke, and prevent abuse of licenses; apply service policies; operate, secure, diagnose, and improve FileUpGo Data Recovery; process refunds and disputes; answer feedback; comply with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal duties; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6. Legal grounds

Where a legal basis is required, processing is carried out as necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests such as service security, fraud prevention, support, and improvement, or on the basis of consent where the law requires it. You may withdraw consent prospectively, but this does not affect earlier lawful processing.

7. When information is shared

Fileupgo team may share only necessary information with authorized payment providers, acquiring institutions, or merchants of record; hosting, infrastructure, security, email-delivery, and support providers; professional advisers; and public authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, users, systems, or the public. Providers are expected to process information under applicable contractual and legal duties. We do not sell personal information for money.

8. International processing

Fileupgo team operates under Hong Kong law and may use service providers in other countries or regions. Information may therefore be processed outside your place of residence. Where required, Fileupgo team will use an applicable transfer mechanism or other safeguards and will provide further information upon a valid request.

9. Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Purchase, payment, tax, and accounting records may be retained for statutory record-keeping periods. License and device records may be kept for the license term and a reasonable period for support, fraud prevention, refunds, disputes, and enforcement. Feedback is kept while it is handled and for reasonable follow-up. Technical and security records are retained according to operational, security, and legal needs, then deleted or anonymized when no longer required.

10. Security

Fileupgo team uses reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and loss. No network, device, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your email account, license key, device access, backups, and recovered files, and for notifying us if you believe a license or communication has been compromised.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also complain to the competent privacy regulator. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it. 12. Children

FileUpGo Data Recovery is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone who cannot legally agree to the applicable Terms. Fileupgo team does not knowingly collect personal information from a child in circumstances requiring parental consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact us.

13. Policy changes and contact
